PunchTab is positioned as the “Comprehensive white label program for brands, agencies, and enterprise” on their website and as the “Instant loyalty program” on AngelList. At first glance of their website, PunchTab looks like an awesome service for end-to-end customer loyalty programs with rich analytics and multi-channel marketing.

The company’s value proposition is unclear until you register for the service and start understanding its capabilities. After registering for their service, I found out that PunchTab only offers online customer loyalty programs which integrate into the client’s marketing campaign.

PunchTab is positioned towards businesses wanting to develop a customer loyalty program for their online audience. While their positioning statement is clear, their value proposition is unclear. It had taken quite a bit of investigation on their website to find out if their service is only for online marketing or whether it could also be used in brick and mortar stores. I think PunchTab provides a great service, however if they targeted brick-and-mortar stores, like coffee shops, their market size would increase significantly while also providing a full end-to-end solution for customer loyalty programs.
