Medlio is a secure, digital health insurance card that aims to demystify costs for patients and providers. For patients, the app provides real-time cost estimations, easy bill pay, and a centralized location to store and share medical data to providers.

Medlio’s marketing is inbound through SEM/SEO and social media websites with a fairly active twitter account. I signed up for the beta program, but have not received any information yet.

One thing to note is that Medlio’s application has not been released to the marketplace yet and they’ve launched on in early October. They have recently completed the first month of their pilot program, which resulted in processing over 500 transactions. I expect their marketing efforts to increase significantly in the coming weeks prior to the app being released. They also mentioned that they are working with health care providers, medical societies, and HR benefit groups to get their application distributed which will be key for customer acquisition.
