Dreambox Learning—a local Seattle startup bringing games into learning—secured another $14.5 million in financing in the last part of 2013. Dreambox has had much success with direct sales of its award-winning math product, and the company has strategically targeted district-level contracts as well. Their vision is to see that every student in the United States has access to personalized learning technology that improves math skills. Dreambox is trying to provide the technology that does this. With the $14.5 million dollars, executives at Dreambox have expressed a desire to expand its pioneering Intelligent Adaptive LearningTM beyond current PreK-5 math games. Students in the classroom, and parents across the country should keep their eyes peeled for the most advanced products from Dreambox Learning! Although it makes sense for Dreambox to initially expand its target segment to include students in grades 5-8, I would not be surprised if eventually Dreambox products cater to K-12 education.
