The company that caught my eye was Boatbound.
Boatbound is essentially airbnb except for boats. The user simply logs on, finds a city, and finds a boat! Not a revolutionary idea, as it is essentially the same thing as airbnb, however it is still a great idea. I was rather surprised at how much boat owners were charging. Prices seem to range anywhere from $200-$1000 / day. That’s an awfully steep price to pay. However, in some instances the boat owner can “captain” you around local waters. This is a great feature, as some tourists to a new area would likely gravitate to this feature.
I’ve identified @boatingmagazine, @DailyBoater, and @discoverboating as popular blogs that would be great to help Boatbound get some more publicity !
